Project:
Every student completes a comprehensive Capstone Project that integrates skills across all five phases. Students design, model, simulate, and document a real-world mechanical product such as a gear-driven power transmission assembly, a consumer electronics enclosure, or an industrial mounting bracket system from initial concept sketches through to production-ready documentation and a simulation report.
Capstone deliverables include: fully parametric part models, a multi-component assembly with motion study, a complete drawing set (3rd-angle projection, GD&T, BOM), and a simulation report with safety factor analysis. Students present their project to instructors and peers in a review session, mirroring an engineering design review in industry.
