Certification In Information Technology Course
The CIT course at Educad Academy is a foundational computer training program designed to equip students with essential IT skills. Whether you’re a beginner or someone looking to strengthen your digital proficiency, this short course is perfect for students, professionals, and job seekers alike.
Module 1: Introduction to Information Technology
- Information Technology (IT) involves using computers to process, store, and communicate data. A computer, central to IT, can be classified as analog, digital, or hybrid, with digital computers further divided into mainframe, mini, personal, and supercomputers. IT elements include hardware, software, liveware, and procedures. Software is categorized as system (e.g., operating systems) and application (e.g., word processors). Hardware encompasses input and output devices, data storage units (bits, bytes, KB to GB), and storage types like RAM, ROM, hard disks, flash drives, and CDs.
Module 2: Microsoft Windows 10
- Windows 10 provides a graphical user interface (GUI) for managing files, applications, and hardware. Key features include the desktop, start button, taskbar, and recycle bin. Users learn file and folder management, window components (title bar, scroll bars, dialog boxes), and mouse/keyboard selection techniques. The course covers customizing desktops, using accessories (WordPad, Paint, Calculator), and managing drives via Explorer. Students practice printer setup, system personalization (backgrounds, control panel settings), and basic internet use (web browsing, email, file downloads).
Module 3: Microsoft Word 2019
- Word 2019 is used for document creation and formatting. Learners explore the ribbon interface, quick access toolbar, and status bar, and practice text entry, editing, and formatting (fonts, paragraphs, page setup). Advanced topics include tables, headers/footers, mail merge, and printing options. Keyboard shortcuts, proofing tools (spell check, thesaurus), and clipboard functions enhance efficiency.
Module 4: Microsoft Excel 2019
- Excel fundamentals include understanding worksheets, tabs, ribbons, and cell operations (cut, copy, paste). Students work with formulas, basic functions (SUM, IF, AVERAGE), conditional formatting, and sorting/filtering data. Advanced skills involve lookup functions (VLOOKUP, HLOOKUP), date/time functions, and creating charts. The module also covers worksheet views, print setup, and multiple file printing.
Module 5: Microsoft PowerPoint 2019
- PowerPoint is used for creating presentation slides. The focus is on simple text slides, design principles, and basic transitions for impactful presentations.
Module 6: Adobe Photoshop
- Photoshop training covers image editing, layers, and color models. Tools include selection, painting, type, and shape tools. Students learn image manipulation techniques like blending, smudging, resizing, filters, and adding effects (shadows, glow). Emphasis is on practical editing for visual content.
Module 7: UI/UX Design with Adobe XD
- Adobe XD is introduced for interface and experience design. Modules cover wireframes, grids, typography, responsive layouts, prototyping, and animations. Students learn to create interactive prototypes and share for feedback.
Module 8: Web Development with HTML5, CSS3 & jQuery
- HTML5 introduces semantic elements, forms, tables, media, and links. CSS3 covers selectors, box model, positioning, flexbox, grids, transitions, and animations. jQuery adds interactivity and sliders/animations to enhance user experience.
Module 9: Python Programming
- Python modules teach syntax, variables, data types, control flow, functions, file handling, and data structures (lists, tuples, dictionaries). Libraries like NumPy and Pandas introduce basic data analysis. GUI development with Tkinter culminates in projects like calculators or text editors.
